Job Description

K4Connect is looking for a hands-on product management professional to lead overall product direction for our current and new product line, both in the B2B and B2C markets, starting with our flagship product, K4Community.

As Director Product Management, you will be responsible for:

  • Identifying potential product opportunities

  • Conducting market research

  • Generating product requirements

  • Determining specifications, production timetables, pricing, and time-integrated plans for product introduction

  • Developing marketing strategies

You will team closely with cross-functional senior leadership including development, sales, customer success, support and marketing with a mission to drive optimal value for our clients, the end users. This role is a critical leadership role which will be instrumental to the realization of our mission of “serving the underserved”.

About the Position:

  • Determines customers' needs and desires by specifying the research needed to obtain market information

  • Recommends the nature and scope of present and future product lines by reviewing product specifications and requirements

  • Appraising new product ideas and/or product or packaging changes

  • Assesses market competition by comparing the company's product to competitors' products

  • Brings new products to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and product development programs

  • Preparing return-on-investment analyses

  • Establishing time schedules with engineering and manufacturing

  • Introduces and markets new products by developing time-integrated plans with sales, advertising, and production

  • Provides source data for product line communications by defining product marketing communication objectives

  • Work closely with Product Marketing and Field Sales to obtain product market data

  • Preparing short-term and long-term product sales forecasts and special reports and analyses

  • Determines product pricing by utilizing market research data

  • Reviewing production and sales costs

  • Anticipating volume; costing special and customized orders

  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, participating in professional societies

  • Leads a strong cross-functional team comprising of development, design, sales, marketing, and customer success/support to drive product releases which meet quality, market and budget expectations

  • Drives world-class best practices in startup product leadership

Qualifications

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline preferred, Master’s or MBA a plus.

  • 5+ years of product management experience, preferably in the SaaS, IoT and/or Home Automation industries

  • Great interpersonal skills including strong communication and listening abilities, as well as the ability to drive consensus within a high paced startup environment

  • An analytical mind that can analyze user data, market data, A/B testing, etc. to drive decision making and continuous improvement

  • A core understanding of the connected home, connected wellness and/or socialization markets

  • A technical background providing a core foundation for teaming with senior engineers to make key product decisions

  • A proven manager with experience planning, executing and delivering high quality and high-value software solutions to market

Additional Preferences:

  • Experience with senior care

  • Experience with writing software code

  • Comfortable with working in a fast-paced startup environment

  • Creative and innovative

  • Risk-tolerant, willing to give new ideas a try

  • Strong personality, willing to push forward ideas, yet a team player
