Software Engineer at Prophesee

We are looking for a passionate individual who demonstrates initiative, takes ownership, respects commitments, and exhibits a high level of conviction and spirit of openness.

The ideal candidate has strong SW programming and scripting skills and would become a SW engineer that develops, expands and maintains the SW frameworks for the characterization and test teams.

You will be involved in the characterization and testing of our innovative vision sensors and camera products and more specifically you will be responsible for developing the complete SW environment in which test, measurement and data processing activities are running fully automated.

You will take responsibility of developing automated IC and camera level test and characterization routines originating from an existing hardware and software platform. It will be your objective to standardize and automate measurement- and test methodologies for event-based image sensors and camera products.

In general your developments will also lay the foundation for the environment and the methodology in which the company’s future products get evaluated and processed.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop measurement and test automation routines for existing and future company products.
  • Maintain existing characterization and test SW environments, while expanding and improving this environment for the upcoming needs.
  • Expand functionality of the characterization and test SW framework.
  • Release and deploy new developments of the characterization and test framework internal to and potentially outside the company network infrastructure.
  • Setup and enable access to a result storage database for data retrieval, processing and report generation.
  • Define SW and scripting coding guidelines, development rules and methodologies and ensure it gets deployed across your co-developers and framework users.
  • Report about your plan, your status and your results in a comprehensive manner to a cross functional team environment including HW, firmware, SW and business-oriented stakeholders.
  • Identify bugs and problems and report them to the stakeholders such that corrective actions can be taken. Propose an effective solution and participate in the strategic discussions on how to solve such issues with a long term vision in mind.
  • Support project teams during product development phase with a variety of customers and partners
  • Be able to work autonomously but behave as a team-player. You can have a large impact on the effectiveness and success of the Industrialization team and, by extension, the entire company.

QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Required:

  • Master’s degree in physics, electrical engineering or computer science
  • Experience in automating tests for hardware devices, including unit tests
  • Confidence using sensors and measurement devices
  • Programming devices at register-level from a datasheet
  • Deep knowledge of either Python or Matlab
  • Strong developer experience on Linux and C++
  • Developer experience on Windows
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Skilled communicator – need to interact with multiple teams

Preferred:

  • Experience on IC industrialization and proficiency in image sensors is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Agile software development principles and practices
  • SW architect experience
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary team

 

Personal skillsStrong problem-solving skills,. Passionate about engineering and electronics projects. Must be pragmatic and self-motivated to complete a task autonomously, showing a “Can Do” attitude.

Language skills: English is mandatory as it is the working language of the company. French is significant asset for living in Paris.

Frequency: up to 10% of the working time on a per need basis
