The Opportunity:

As the Sr. Manager, Product Strategy at Venafi, you will be responsible for defining and developing the strategic direction and business plans for the product lines at Venafi.  You’ll be part of an extremely motivated, dedicated, and experienced product management team that designs, develops and brings to market products that secure the most important assets of the Global 2000 – their machine identities. You’ll contribute directly and significantly to our products, and will have highly capable, experienced teams to support you with direct access to our customers. You’ll use your broad range of strategy and structured problem-solving skills to define, evolve and drive a transformational change in the organization.

We’re looking for inherently curious, intelligent, out-of-the-box thinkers who are passionate about building highly successful enterprise software product lines. You will work closely with the Sr. Director of Product Management and the product management team, in order to develop and refine clear, compelling product line business plans, and evolve our roadmap to deliver world-class products to achieve those goals. 

Key Result Areas:

  • Create product line business plans to successfully deliver on corporate goals
  • Evolve product line strategies, informed by primary and secondary market research
  • Build consensus on the product vision & strategy with key internal & external stakeholders
  • Develop pricing, positioning & promotion strategies, and collaborate with product marketing to implement required pricing, packaging & licensing changes
  • Define, implement and evaluate metrics to ensure business & product success
  • Shape and evolve product roadmap and direction, in partnership with product owners
  • Identify organic and inorganic growth opportunities.  Lead build | buy | partner decisions in collaboration with the Alliances and Corporate Development team
  • Act as a compelling company and product evangelist


Minimum Skills and Experience required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering
  • Masters’ Degree in Business Administration
  • At least 3 years of management consulting experience
  • Strategic thinker.  Exceptional structured problem-solving skills
  • Passion for building great software products, and businesses around them
  • Proven ability to quickly become an expert in specialized technical domains
  • The ability to excite and inspire others around a common goal
  • Outstanding communication skills, written and verbal
  • Equally compelling with executive audiences, as well as technical practitioners
  • Self-starter.  Hard working.  Intellectually curious
  • High-IQ, low ego and a true team player

Other requirements:

  • ~30 – 40% travel, including international

What sets you apart:

  • MBA from a Top 10 graduate business school
  • Prior experience with enterprise software product strategy and/or product management
  • Prior experience with Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and cryptography
