Content Marketing Manager at Urban Airship

About You

You’re a strategic and experienced content writer and wrangler. You believe it’s critical that each piece you produce fits within a messaging framework, helps meet business goals, and delivers clear value for target audiences. You also have a knack for keeping the big picture strategy in mind while keeping people and projects on track —  measuring, meeting and beating timelines and goals.


  • Create content strategies and content (writing eBooks, blog posts, website copy, video scripts and more) that address our target audiences’ pain points and spark actions that lead to sales opportunities.
  • Manage our content library on our website and intranet, including completing regular content and performance audits and updating/retiring pieces as needed.
  • Serve as lead writer and executive editor for the Urban Airship blog, including maintaining a strategic editorial calendar and a slate of authors that supports key messaging pillars. You’ll collaborate with internal and external experts to write posts, as well as thoughtfully re-purpose existing content to create new posts.
  • Collaborate with other members of the marketing team to create content, as well as colleagues in sales, customer success, product management and engineering.  
  • Develop strategies for customer interactions with our web site, including the creation of customer journeys, Make copy edits and updates to Urban Airship’s website as needed.
  • Track, measure, test and analyze content-related initiatives.
  • Have a working understanding of SEO, and how to optimize content for target keywords.
  • Provide writing and editing support to other teams — from product marketing and demand gen to sales and customer success — as needed.

Skills and Experience

  • Excellent communication skills with proven ability to work both independently and with cross-functional teams
  • 8-10+ years of experience writing and producing excellent marketing/business journalism content that meets its goals and contributes to lead generation
  • High editorial standards
  • Great project management and organization skills including experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Understand best practices for SEO
  • Experience writing for and/or managing social media channels
  • Comfortable working with Web CMS
  • Experience creating video and/or interactive content a plus
  • BA/BS degree
  • Background in martech, mobile marketing or SaaS software a plus
