The Role

As a Senior RF Engineer at Ossia, you will be responsible to work in all areas related to RF design and development. The position requires proven experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to think outside the box. We are looking for candidates who thrive in a fast-paced start-up like environment. The successful candidate will be highly motivated and detail-oriented while showing the highest standards of responsibility and ability to collaborate with colleagues. The ability to provide technical guidance is a definite asset. This is a hands-on position with characterization and validation activities in a lab.

The Responsibilities

  • Quickly understand concepts and extract key requirements in RF applications.
  • Circuit board level design of a variety of RF blocks or systems from 2 GHz up to mm-wave frequencies. 
  • Work with PCB CAD tools for simulations and layout.
  • Provide technical critique of designs created by other engineers.
  • Perform hands-on characterization and validation activities in a lab.
  • Work independently or in small teams.
  • Mentoring and technical guidance.

The Requirements:

  • Minimum education: B.S.E.E. from an accredited university. Advanced degree is an asset.
  • 5 to 7 years of relevant experience including product development.
  • Expert with RF design techniques using commercial ICs.
  • Expert with PCB design techniques in RF applications.
  • Expert with standard RF test equipment (Signal Generators, Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, etc.) and measurement techniques from 2GHz to mm-wave frequencies. 
  • Familiarity with wireless standards is desirable.
  • Basic understanding of EMI and regulatory process is an asset.
  • Some knowledge of antennas and phased array antennas is an asset.
