Test Automation Developer (Toronto) at Univa

The Position

Univa is currently seeking a Test Automation Developer for our Product Engineering team working in our Markham, Ontario office.   You‘ll develop, implement and execute test plans and test cases based on user stories and contribute to test automation tools and infrastructure by developing and augmenting test cases and test libraries.   If you are looking to grow your skills with experienced, leading edge technologists and a proven leadership team, your search is over. 

Responsibilities

  • Create and set up test frameworks
  • Integrate the test frameworks with build processes
  • Guide and support the developers and engineers in using the test frameworks
  • Write test automation in Python/Java/Golang with focus on quality and scalability
  • Integrate the test automation plan with existing frameworks and document the test plans
  • Develop robust schedules and deliverables on time

 Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline
  • 3+ years of experience in software development, test automation, or quality assurance
  • Experience with testing tools such as JUnit, Python unittest, Golang testing, Ginkgo, Gomega and Selenium
  • Experience defining and implementing test strategies covering testing various levels (unit, integration, acceptance, etc), test priorities, and testing philosophies such as BDD and TDD.
  • Experience with all phases of the testing lifecycle
  • Strong python/Java/language programming skills
  • Sound knowledge of Unix-like operating systems (e.g. Linux, Solaris, AIX, HP-UX, Mac OS/X)
  • Experience using common development tools such as source control repositories (cvs, svn, git), and bug tracking tools (e.g. JIRA)
  • Strong analytical and root cause analysis skills
  • Ability to ramp up quickly and great team skills
  • Solid communication skills (oral and written)
  • Experience with Distributed Workload Management Systems such as Grid Engine or LSF and experience in High Performance Computing is a plus
