Control Systems Engineer at Volocopter

ABOUT US
We at Volocopter are building the world’s first manned fully electric and safe air taxis. With the Volocopter we will redefine the way people move in cities and make humanity’s dream of personal flight come true. As pioneers in this field, we wrote aviation history in 2011 with the first ever manned flight of a multicopter. YOUR ROLE
You are an expert in the development of control systems, ideally familiar with the development of flight control algorithms for drones. Embedded inside a multi-disciplinary team and reporting directly to our Head of Software Development, you develop the control logic for the Volocopter systems, and contribute to the team your expertise in control systems development.
YOUR TASKS
  • Design, development, analysis and test of flight control systems logic
  • Development of control systems in MATLAB und C
  • Close cooperation with software engineers and with universities
  • Test and verification on flying test beds
REQUIREMENTS
  • Master/PhD Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or similar
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience
  • Track record of successfully completed software projects
  • Excellent MATLAB and Simulink skills
  • Experience with Model Predictive Control (MPC), Adaptive Control (e.g. MRAC), H∞-Control, robust control,System identification, etc.
  • Ideally, experience with RTOS, software configuration management tools, continuous integration, test coverage
  • Ideally, experienced in flying drones or other aircraft
  • Structured way of working, high sense of responsibility and accountability
