What You’ll Do

Reporting directly to the General Counsel, the Chief Privacy Counsel will ensure that Carbon Black complies with the relevant privacy regulations, ensuring it has the appropriate systems and controls in place to process and handle personal data.

Inform, advise, manage, and issue recommendations regarding GDPR compliance and other data privacy issues
Frequent communication with prospects, customers, partners, vendors and others to address data privacy issues
Review and negotiate data protection agreements
Manage data protections agreement process and database of completed forms
Implement changes required for compliance with GDPR
Advise on issues relating to data protection impact assessments and other enterprise-wide data privacy initiatives
Identify and implement safeguards (including technical and organizational measures) required to mitigate any risks to the rights and interests of the data subjects
Coordinate with Legal, Security Operations, IT and Cloud Operations to ensure necessary controls, documentation and objectives are met

What You’ll Bring

Expertise in U.S., European, and other international data protection laws, regulations and practices, including an in-depth understanding of the GDPR
Experience implementing privacy and security risk assessments and best practices
Detailed knowledge of privacy certifications, and information security standards certifications
Understanding of information technology and information security practices and audits
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of internal management, customers, prospects, data protection authorities and other controllers and processors across national boundaries and cultures
Familiarity with the cybersecurity software and cloud industry
Juris Doctor or equivalent degree required
