Why You Matter

As Internal Communications Manager, you are the filter for cultural relevance and style. You’ll partner closely with senior leaders across functions to ensure our internal communications are timely, consistent, compelling and mission-driven. You’ll be responsible for developing communications strategies and materials that drive alignment across functions and geographies. And you’ll put your plans into action, crafting written and visual communications for a variety of audiences and channels.

Successful candidates will possess exceptional emotional intelligence and a passion for creating an environment of open and honest communications. Candidates should be creative thinkers and excellent communicators with an eye for detail; have extensive experience in drafting and executing proactive communications plans around multi-dimensional topics; have strong project management experience; and be skilled at building and fostering relationships with teammates and senior leadership across functions.

What You’ll Do

Working closely with senior leadership, develop and execute proactive communications strategy and programs around Carbon Black’s mission, culture, and major initiatives
Plan, manage, and execute calendar of regularly scheduled internal communications programs (e.g., online monthly all-hands meetings; e-staff Q & A sessions; quarterly update communications)
Conceive and create internal comms content (e.g., presentations, internal blog posts, emails)
Build partnerships with executive leaders and key stakeholders across functions to develop internal communications in advance of major company initiatives and announcements, as well as reactive communications at key moments
Identify opportunities and execute plans for reinforcing company culture across Carbon Black’s offices globally through internal communications efforts
Partner with external comms on work that requires integrated comms plans (PR, social, recruiting)
Represent internal communications in cross-functional teams across the company
Work autonomously in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, and also work collaboratively on a team

What You’ll Bring

BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.
Excellent communication skills and strong project management experience
5 years of experience in writing, communications or a related field (e.g. in corporate, journalism, government, political, or nonprofit settings).
3 years of experience with internal communications in a dynamic environment (i.e. developing communications strategies and plans around initiatives that affect people, process and/or technology)
Experience working with senior leadership

Preferred Qualifications:

7+ years work experience, internal, corporate, and/or political communications experience
Experience in cyber security or other enterprise software industry
Experience working cross-functionally in different job functions
Creative problem-solver, with the ability to execute on multiple projects autonomously, balancing the long-term and urgent needs of the team.
Demonstrated ability to work calmly and collaboratively in fast-paced and ambiguous environments
Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to think a couple of steps ahead in order to influence direction and overall program objectives
Ability to manage a complex set of stakeholders.
