Senior Antenna Engineer at Ossia

As a Sr. Antenna Engineer at Ossia, you will be responsible for researching and designing state of the art antennas for wireless power chargers and power receivers. This role requires a strong understanding of antennas and antenna arrays. The position also requires proven experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to think outside the box. We are looking for candidates who thrive in a fast-paced start-up like environment. The successful candidate will be highly motivated and detailed oriented while showing highest standards of responsibility and able to collaborate with colleagues.

Responsibilities include:

Gather requirements and specifications, propose and develop new antenna designs; contribute to system design
Come up with new and innovative antenna structures that improve antenna performance, and ideally lowers costs
Design, prototype and test antennas, antenna arrays and their subcomponents over the 2-60GHz range for near and far field applications
Define, simulate, and model the system and predict its RF performance using tools like Matlab (or equivalent) while ensuring compliance with FCC/ETSI/MIC and others
Work with x-functional engineering on HW/SW enabling technologies

MSEE + 5 years or PhD + 2 years’ industry experience required
Industrial/research experience with Antenna Arrays is a must
Proven successful track record, which includes antenna designs on the market
Hands-on use of full wave simulation tools (CST, FEKO, HFSS, etc.)
Experience with regulatory requirements and process for wireless consumer devices, such as FCC, TIA/EIA, CTIA, ETSI, etc.
Understanding of EMC/EMI testing for regulatory compliance and certification
Hands-on experience in with measurement techniques and use of spectrum analyzers, signal generators, network analyzers, power meters and other industry standard RF test equipment
Able to document test procedures and test results such that they are reproducible by other engineers
Experience using anechoic chambers
PCB design, PCB design tools – schematic capture software
Hands on experience with MatLab, C, C++​
