Temporary Data Operations Specialist (Entry level) at Inrix

We are looking for an entry level Temporary Data Operations Specialist, to join the Data Team at ParkMe on a temporary basis, where we are committed to building the most comprehensive parking POI dataset in the world.

This is an entry-level position where most of your time will be split between collecting data points in the field and recruiting independent surveyors to do the same to help meet our goals.

You will also be tasked with:
Collecting data points in the field to help continue building a robust dataset
Working with your fellow team members to coordinate which cities need your support
Creating an itinerary for your travels, often across multiple cities
Prioritizing collection needs and executing them efficiently
Training surveyors in each city to maintain the high quality of our data
Providing feedback of our tool to facilitate the collection process
Recruiting surveyors in target cities to collect parking data
Remotely coordinating surveyors to meet specific data collection goals
Reviewing surveyors’ data submissions to maintain the high quality of our data
Researching and navigating through websites for public parking information. These websites are not always in German or English, and you may need the aid of Google Translate.
Adding newly discovered and updating pre-existing parking lots and garages in our map using tools that are developed in-house.
Processing updates sent in from users and parking operators.
Phone inquiries to parking operators, asking for clarification on parking rates and any other information that is relevant to our users.
Improving our tools by submitting bug reports and feature requests.

You can walk, bike, or board through a city for hours effortlessly
You are ready to depart to different city at a moment’s notice!
Scheduling expert
You can plan travels to multiple cities within a certain timeline to make sure we meet deadlines
Communication ace
You can teach people who to use new technology and follow steps to ensure that the quality of our data remains high
Tech savvy, you can quickly learn and work with user interfaces that are still in development.
Strong familiarity with smartphones and apps, especially navigation apps or Pokémon Go. Know how to turn on GPS ("location services" on iPhones)
Fast with the keyboard and mouse, and most importantly, accurate
Extremely detail oriented (including):
The ability to execute technical testing and data collection methodologies accurately and precisely
You are able to plot points and digitise areas on a map precisely according to our specifications. This requires the ability to distinguish features in satellite and street-level imagery, which are sometimes very small and/or unclear.
You ask questions about things that seem out of place.
Cartophile, you are excited about the prospect of working on a map product that is used for car navigation on a daily basis by millions of users.
College graduate, must have BA/BSc.
Must be local, relocation is not offered for this position.
Must be fluent (reading, writing, and conversation) in German & English.
GIS coursework and/or experience, as well as fluency (reading and writing) in Spanish, French, or Italian are a plus!
