General Manager - Customer Success at Airship
San Francisco, CA, US

About You
You’re a leader with a track record of success leading teams, developing customer relationships and providing marketing guidance.  You have well developed business acumen and approach the management of a portfolio of customers the same way you would approach running your own business.  You understand technology and data and the roles they play in helping businesses engage with customers and cultivate value.  You’re a trusted advisor to your customers, and you’re skilled at engaging them in order to uncover their needs and priorities.  This, combined with your experience in solving marketing challenges and knowledge about certain vertical markets, allows you to accelerate the value your customers receive.
 
Responsibilities

        As the leader of a vertical book of business, you will have ultimate responsibility for the performance of your customer base as measured by retention, expansion and influenced by platform adoption.
        Lead a team of Account Managers to meet/exceed the needs of your customers and drive their adoption of the Airship platform in order to maximize the business outcomes they invested in Airship to deliver.
        Bring your digital and mobile marketing expertise to support and solve customer needs and challenges.
        Develop access to and relationships with senior decision makers and influencers at our customers in order to understand their objectives, priorities, challenges and obstacles.
        Ensure renewal of all customers by effectively positioning Airship within each account.
        Drive revenue growth by expanding customer use of Airship products and features.
        Support the new business sales process by demonstrating your vertical and mobile. domain knowledge, representing the post sales support structure and ensuring a smooth transition from the buying process to value realization.
        Reduce time-to-value for new customers by refining process, designing repeatable offerings and vertically oriented applications of the Airship platform.
        Use your strategic sales acumen to mitigate churn risk by acknowledging the presence of other options (in-house, competitive) within the martech ecosystem and collaborating where appropriate to protect and advance Airship’s interests.
        Cultivate and develop your team members to enable their professional growth and impact on the performance of your vertical pod.
        Provide vertical experience and subject matter expertise that enables more effective positioning of the Airship platform within our customers and influences the platform’s evolution.

Skills and Experience

        15 + years of experience working in Enterprise SaaS, preferably focused on mobile, digital or technical marketing solutions
        10 + years experience managing a business, preferably with P&L responsibility
        Proven track record of consistently exceeding goals/quota
        Refined relationship development and management skills with demonstrated success across all levels of the organization, but especially senior management and the C suite
        Comfort communicating to both technical and non technical audiences
        Excellent communication and presentation skills
        Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to excel in a team oriented environment
        Proven ability to identify, hire, cultivate and maximize talent
        Degree in Business, Marketing or related field, or combination of related education and deep experience as equivalent
        Advanced degree desired, but not required
