Digital Algorithm Architect at Prophesee

As a Digital Algorithm Architect, you will use your algorithmic and software engineering expertise along with your understanding of hardware implementation constraints to rethink complex algorithms and optimize them into area- and power-efficient ASIC-compliant solutions. You will work closely with Computer Vision, Software and Application engineers as well as RTL designers to find the implementation best fitting the constraints on efficiency, memory usage and robustness.

For this position, we are looking for a passionate individual who takes ownership for project work and demonstrates initiative, attention to details and creativity. The ideal candidate is an experienced software engineer with a background in algorithm design or image processing.


  • Work in close collaboration with Computer Vision, Software and Application engineers as well as RTL designers to integrate requirements and use-cases
  • Rethink algorithms typically written for x86/ARM platforms and design, develop and optimize new C/C++ implementations adapted to hardware implementation constraints, in particular the memory usage.
  • Validate the approximations (fixed point, limited bit range, etc.) done for constructing the hardware-friendly version of the algorithm and support the digital design teams during the hardware implementation.
  • Work innovatively and creatively within the group with a focus on protecting innovation and IP through patents



  • MS degree in computer science, electrical engineering or computer engineering with 2+ years of industry experience.
  • Proven experience in software engineering and/or algorithmic architecture, with contribution on the design, development and optimization phases.


  • Experience in implementation of C/C++ software models for hardware implementations
  • Experience in hardware image-processing architecture
  • Awareness of SOC/IC design architecture and digital design flow (i.e. design, verification, area/timing/power optimization)
  • Exposure to RTL description languages (e.g. VHDL or Verilog)

Language skills: English is mandatory as it is the working language of the company. French is an asset for living in Paris.
