Associate Researcher at Medical Informatics

WHO WE ARE
Medical Informatics Corp. (MIC) a medical software company that aims to save lives by improving how patients are monitored. Our solution, Sickbay, collects patient data, stores it, transforms it and delivers results to doctors and nurses in real-time. We continue to build on Sickbay to identify early warning signs of patient deterioration in data which was previously lost within hospitals. This allows us to provide predictive alerts to care providers who can remotely or locally diagnose the problem and intervene before symptoms become life-threatening.  
 
WHO YOU ARE
MIC’s Research Department is looking for a Junior Researcher to help build, validate, and test algorithms and signal transformations that provide clinicians with the predictive insights they need to care for patients better.
 
YOUR MISSION/RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with our team to build the next suite of software-based monitors improving the way that doctors and nurses deliver care to patients. Participate in a corporate culture of collaboration, accountability and innovation. Prepare algorithms for production. Maintain existing data analysis tools. Build new algorithms from multi-resolution time series data.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience working with time series data
  • Experience with any/all of: Matlab, SQL, C++, Scala, Python
  • BS/MS-equivalent background in signal processing, linear optimization, or machine learning
  • Superior communication skills
  • Open and collaborative mindset
