The Sales Development Manager is responsible for leading a team of Sales Development Representatives (SDRs) who partner with our field sales executives to reach new accounts The SDR team is focused on initiating the revenue generation process by qualifying interest, setting up the first meetings and product demonstrations for Schoology’s LMS and Assessment solutions.

The ideal candidate is a natural coach and is passionate about providing an exceptional customer experience.  You will develop, train and hire motivated and enthusiastic team members who are critical for the success of the organization.  You will provide leadership, strategic planning, and instill best practices to drive results that align with Schoology’s go-to-market strategy. 

As Sales Development Manager, reporting to the Senior Director of Sales Operations, you will:

  • Hire, onboard, train and manage a team of SDRs 
  • Motivate SDRs to succeed in their roles through 1:1 and team coaching and mentoring
  • Develop the sales, product and industry understanding of each team member
  • Build efficient processes in Salesforce, Outreach, LinkedIn and other selling tools to maximize productivity and achieve targets
  • Define and manage to key performance metrics that optimize pipeline creation and bookings
  • Build great relationships with fellow sales and marketing leaders to stay aligned on goals and outcomes
  • Build a culture of collaboration and mutual objectives between the SDRs and field sales representatives
  • Use techniques like role-playing and recording tools like ExecVision to develop skill sets

To succeed in this position, you will have:

  • A BA/BS Degree
  • 2+ years of sales management experience
  • Experience as a Sales Development Rep and/or as a full life-cycle Sales Representative
  • Excellent mentoring, coaching, and people management skills
  • Understanding and experience of K12 education and Edtech sales
  • Previous LMS or Assessment experience a plus
  • Experience using tools such as Salesforce, Outreach and LinkedIn
  • Excellent data analysis and reporting skills (experience using Salesforce a big plus) 
  • Strong attention to detail and well organized
  • A drive to initiate projects and exceed goals
  • Leadership skills that allow you to see the big picture and inspire a team
