Network Operations Manager at Sigfox
Dallas, TX, US

The Network Operations Manager leads all aspects of the Sigfox network operations responsibilities across the United States. Working closely with Sigfox RF Planning, Deployment, the Network Operations Center (NOC), field resources and Customers to resolve technical issues and ensure Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met. The Manager must have experience working with general contractors, tower companies and property owners that have infrastructure hosting Sigfox equipment.

 

As our Network Operations Manager you will be in charge of :

 

WIN/WIN MISSIONS : 

  • Oversee the day-to-day network operations performance, reliability, ticketing, escalations, and communications with the internal and external customers.

  • Oversee all in-house site installations through hiring and managing installation and construction resources; direct contractors with Sigfox and external general contractors.

  • Hire, train and manage network operations engineers, technicians and installers.

  • Manage project financials, including: bidding and proposals, purchase orders, and review/approval of vendor invoices.

  • Develop, update and maintain the necessary processes and procedures to monitor the network, working with other departments in the U.S. and abroad.

  • Ownership of the network Repair and Maintenance (R&M) Plan and R&M Process, including network maintenance vendor procurement.

  • Provide hands-on leadership in managing technically complex installations, including performing installations and customer premises.

  • Review equipment and installation Bill of Material (BOM) for new site builds, installations and R&M projects.

  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with Sigfox standards such as: Sigfox Installation Guidelines and Close Out Package (COP).

  • Responsible for implementing and managing Sigfox Backhaul Strategy; responsibilities include: monthly reporting, hardware and service plan review and selection.

  • Ensure data integrity with respect to all OA&M tools (Pro Klicks, Backend, KORE, POD Systems, etc).

  • Provide timely responses to all network trouble tickets, both service effecting and non-service effecting. Occasionally, responding to after-hours outages and emergency on a 12x7x365 basis.

  • Ensure notifications and updates are provided in a routine and scalable fashion to all members of customer, sales, engineering, and executive leadership teams.

  • Provide detailed post-mortem reporting and reviews for all major outages and issues affecting network performance and the Customer Experience.

  • ·Act as Sigfox Safety Observer and Quality Assurance representative enforcing good industry practices.

 

MINDSET & KEY SKILLS:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering, operations or a technical discipline is required.

  • 10+ years support delivery management experience, start-up experience useful.

  • 10+ years of experience with wireless network engineering and operations provider.

  • 5+ years in management and leading teams through adversity and fast growth.

  • Strong operational leader who can effectively collaborate with multiple stakeholders.

  • Track record of successful organizational, communication, interpersonal and relationship skills.

  • Technical ability to understand network and field installation details.

  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, meet deadlines, deliver accurate work, responsive to field needs at a relatively short notice, and thrive in a fast-paced working environment.

  • Must be detail oriented with strong organizational and analytical skill

  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PPT, Project).

  • PMP or Project Management formal training is preferred.

  • Construction Management experience is preferred.

Physical Demands:

  •  Ability and willingness to travel 30 to 70% within the United States and occasional international travel.

  • Ability and willingness to work after hours and weekends for occasional customer on-site installations.

  • Ability and willingness to safely lift, lower, carry and handle large boxes and heavy equipment weighing up to 50 lbs., work from heights, climb ladders, and walk up staircases.

  • Ability and willingness to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, and balance for extended periods of time.
