We are looking for Engineering Project Managers to join an amazing group of technologists who will bring project delivery expertise and discipline to our Engineering team. As part of the Engineering PMO reporting into the Engineering COO youwill apply best practices, continuously think about how we can improve our engineering delivery and work closely with our engineer teams to ensure that we are delivering to the expected time and quality. You are knowledgeable in mainstream project management approaches and are comfortable working autonomously within these approaches.
You will have extensive software development project management experience and exhibit a natural passion for getting the most out of the teams they work with. This will complement you strong organisational skills and attention to detail. You will have a strong sense of foresight for potential challenges and risks and devise plans to address and mitigate these, both around the implemented engineering processes and the delivery 'machinery'. You will contribute to the success of Engineering by choreographing scheduled and adhoc meetings and retrospectives, maintaining documentation relating to project delivery processes and contributing to the day-to-day positivity within R3. You will have a methodical and fastidious attitude to software delivery by capturing, tracking and driving actions across Engineering to a successful conclusion, keeping fast-moving situations under control and using the right combination of project delivery techniques to suit.
You will have experience working in firms where releases, software development lifecycles and speed-to-market are the back-bone of your work. You will want to delight your colleagues by helping provide them with a high quality project delivery experience. The majority of your project delivery experience will be from working in agile environments where project managers, product managers and engineers work closely together.

Responsibilities

    • Take ownership of project deliveries applying appropriate project control techniques.
    • Apply robust and appropriate project planning to capture and track activities so the Engineering team can work as efficiently and effectively as possible.
    • Contribute to improving the maturity of R3's platform project delivery.
    • Communicate to internal and external stakeholders using a variety of techniques appropriately tailored to the audience.
    • Produce, validate and publish accurate project reports on a regular and timely basis.
    • Display flexibility under changing priorities and a willingness to collaborate with the software engineering team to achieve common objectives.
    • Identify opportunities for efficiency and development process improvements including but not limited to the use of off-the-shelf tooling and the adoption of best practices.

Competencies

    • A deep understanding of project management principles, most likely obtained through a combination of academic study and professional experience.
    • 5+ years experience delivering software to external clients.
    • Jira experience is an advantage.
    • Comfortable and able to work under pressure.
At R3, we prioritise encouraging a diverse and inclusive workforce. If you don’t meet all of the above criteria, but you think you’d be a great addition to R3, send us your CV. We’re always interested in meeting collaborative people who are excited to work with us.
