Sr. Sensor Software Engineer at Aeye

AEye is looking for a highly motivated individual with experience in software engineering at several experience levels and domain areas with a ‘get stuff done’ attitude. We are looking for an exceptionally capable and motivated person with a diverse skill set, who enjoys a fast-paced startup environment in the area of autonomous vehicles, robotics, and perception.

Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:

 

  • Write highly optimized and state of the art source code.
  • Participate in agile scrum development of project planning, design specifications, system flow diagrams, documentation, testing plan/cases/tools and ongoing support of systems. 
  • Work closely with our perception and algorithms teams and implement new ideas in software.
  • Participate in development of SDK and user interface.
  • Work with 3D point cloud and evaluate the quality of the system.
  • Debug and analyze software and system issues.
  • Promote ideas within project teams.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

 

Essential Skills & Experience Requirements (required):

 

  • Rigorous C++/11 skills required, Python and Qt are plusses. 
  • Fluent in multi-threaded C++ development. 
  • Background in Physics, Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field. 
  • Ability to understand complex technical systems and come up to speed quickly on new sensing modalities.
  • Ability to adapt, operate, and flourish under ambiguity

 

Preferred Skills & Experience (useful):

 

  • Experience in at least one of the following disciplines: Computer Vision, AI/Deep Learning/Machine Learning, Perception, fusion of multiple sensor, SLAM using 3D data, or autonomous driving. 
  • Experience with safety certified hardware programs (ASIL, ISO26262 etc…).
  • Expertise in robotics, autonomous systems, or aerospace sensor platforms.
  • Expertise in automotive ECU, hardware components, embedded software.
  • GPGPU / CUDA optimization. 
  • Experience with Linear Algebra (e.g. Eigen, BLAS, LAPACK), MATLAB.
  • Real-time embedded coding experience.
  • Experience in a fast-paced and demanding start-up experience.
