Systems Administrator at ViewSonic

The Systems Administrator ensures the stability, integrity and efficient operation of the in-house information systems that support core organizational functions.  This is achieved by monitoring, maintaining, supporting and optimizing all networked software and associated operations systems.  The Systems Administrator will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate and resolve issues in order to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments.


  • Install, configure and maintain software on multiple platforms (Windows, Linux, Unix, etc…)
  • Provide support in the design and implementation of a global Internet and local telecommunication systems.  Projects could include configuration of connections, data encryption, user authentication, and internet service security.                    
  • Provides Hardware & Software support to both end users and IT staff.  May include and not limited to: adding new peripheral devices (printers, external media devices) into existing systems, monitor and tune systems to achieve optimum level of performance 
  • Analyses and tests problems, and develops solutions for issues that cannot be resolved by support staff. Performs bench testing of hardware and software. Involves contact with software and hardware vendors.                                           
  • Performs advanced level troubleshooting to network usage and computer peripherals.
  • Interface with internal departments (systems engineering, IT, sales & marketing, security, finance, supply chain, etc…)
  • Researches and plans the implementation of new technologies as they become available.
  • Serve as the backup to provide technical advice and support for all network equipment.
  • Performs general systems maintenance, backups & recovery, documentation, user trainings.
  • Manage IT asset inventories and uphold maintenance histories.
  • Manage Mobile and Telecommunication Devices and create utilization reports.
  • Provide after-hour support with different regions to support users and services.
  • May require travel between both sites (Brea, CA & Chino, CA).



  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in IT Administration and IT Helpdesk role
  • Microsoft and Cisco certifications highly desirable
  • Working knowledge of Exchange 2007, 2010, and 2013
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems, Group Policy, Active Directory, and DNS
  • Knowledge of Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity best practices and their application
  • Exposure to VOIP technology and practical application
  • Working knowledge of VMware a plus
  • High degree of organization and attention to detail
  • Ability to work well both in teams and independently
  • Hours of work may vary dependent upon the global nature of the business. Must be available by phone and email after hours in case of an emergency.
