Presto collects data for millions of users across 150,000+ Presto devices in thousands of restaurants every year, and we are growing faster than ever. Our Data Team is responsible for building, deploying, and scaling our next generation platform for data ingestion, processing, storage, scheduling, analysis, and reporting of this data to provide leverage for the suite of products we are building, internal Presto stakeholders, our enterprise clients, their staff and guests. 
Our Data Product Manager will be responsible for the planning, roadmap, and execution of our data tools, platform, and our data reporting system. The ideal person possesses in-depth knowledge of analytics, data engineering, and machine learning as well as functional experience in product management with great communication skills and the ability to lead a group of infrastructure engineers, data scientists, and analysts in managing Presto data’s platform.

What You'll Do:

    • Learn and understand our customer’s needs around data & reporting and how well our current solution addresses them
    • Identify data platform opportunities and establish a shared product vision, strategy and roadmap to make the vision a reality
    • Uncover the needs of internal customer groups—including executives, product teams, and business and operations teams—and couple them with intuitive and actionable data solutions.
    • Drive stakeholder discussions towards clear analytical goals while considering design trade-offs such as data availability/feasibility, system performance, resource availability and timelines
    • Help shape and own objectives and KPIs for Presto’s data & reporting platform
    • Work cross functionally across Product Development, Engineering, Business Development, Account Management, Operations, Customer Success, and Sales
    • Represent Presto when speaking with clients and partners to understand their business needs & requirements related to data & reporting
    • Work closely with data engineers, data scientists, and BI analysts on defining product requirements, user stories, agile planning, backlog grooming, story execution, testing, and deployments
    • Champion and build a culture of data informed decision making

What We're Looking For:

    • BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent
    • 6+ years of industry experience in data related fields.
    • 2+ years of product management or related experience
    • Experience launching successful products and features related to data infrastructure
    • Deep familiarity with Big Data infrastructure technologies (such as Kafka, Hadoop, Spark and Redshift), relational databases and data products generally
    • Prior experience in data warehouse modeling and ETL/data pipeline development
    • Strong SQL skills required
    • Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Periscope, Looker, or Tableau
    • Highly technical, garnering respect from engineers
    • Excellent communication and presentation abilities to varying audiences (end users, managers, technical and executive)
    • Proven ability to lead teams and work cross-functionally with technical and non-technical team members up to and including executives in a highly collaborative environment
    • Deep understanding and empathy for users
    • Ability to thrive and adapt in a fast-paced, high-growth and rapidly changing environment
    • Understanding of various statistical methods, machine learning techniques, or recommendation engines is a plus
