FPGA Verification Engineer at Aeye

 AEye develops advanced vision hardware, software and algorithms that act as the eyes and visual cortex of autonomous vehicles. Since its demonstration of its solid state LiDAR scanner in 2013, AEye has pioneered breakthroughs in intelligent sensing. The company is based in the San Francisco Bay Area, and backed by world-renowned investors such as Kleiner Perkins, Intel, Airbus, Subaru, LG Electronics, Hella, and more.

AEye is looking for a highly motivated FPGA Verification Engineer.  

Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain a full-chip verification environment for AEye’s LiDAR and Camera processing FPGAs.
  • Create FPGA verification test plans to facilitate reviews.
  • Develop and maintain an automated regression test environment.
  • Build and develop both targeted and/or randomized test cases as needed.
  • Enable design engineers by creating the building blocks of module-level test benches.
  • Optimize test bench runtime by profiling and customizing where needed.

Essential Skills & Experience (required):

  • BS or Masters in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years industry experience in FPGA/ASIC verification.
  • Experience in architecting and building full-chip verification environment from the ground up.
  • Full-chip and module level test bench experience.
  • Fluent in SystemVerilog OOP and other verification features.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding start-up atmosphere.
  • Prior experience working with AXI interfaces and building AXI BFM.

Preferred Skills & Experience (Strongly desired):

  • Experience with UVM.
  • Fluent in SystemVerilog Assertions and able to guide the design team with SVA.
  • Experience using ModelSim and/or QuestaSim.
  • Familiarity with Git or similar revision control software.
  • TCL and shell scripting.
  • Prior experience working with Xilinx Vivado and Xilinx verification IP suite.
  • Experience verifying video or camera processing pipeline (useful but not required).
  • Experience in a fast-paced and demanding start-up experience.
