SUMMARY 

The Project Manager (PM) is dedicated to the implementation of communications strategies for brands, initiatives, and marketing programs. The PM works closely with Directors of Marcom and Digital Marketing, Marketing & Product Managers and assigned creative team members on each project from initiation to completion. The PM receives strategic direction from, and collaborates with key stakeholders to ensure that communications strategies are executed accurately. The PM serves as the Creative Services Project liaison to the client to ensure clear, consistent communication and enable the team to produce each piece on time and within budget. The PM also provides direction to Project Coordinators working on projects in their assigned categories. The PM is responsible for implementing a variety of project types, including advertising, direct mail, publications, collateral, video and digital communications.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Lead implementation of communications strategies

· Work closely with MARCOM Director to understand and adhere to strategy requirements for ViewSonic branding, initiatives and marketing programs.

· Work with the client on individual projects to identify purpose, audience and communications plan.

· Develop creative briefs, attend all project related meetings and additional appropriate meetings as requested by clients, to become an expert on assigned categories.

· Provide pre-job consultation when needed. Possess a strong knowledge of marketing communications, creating messages and how to present those messages via activities including brochure, video, product guides, direct mail, print and web advertising.

· Resulting in communication strategies that are successfully implemented and reinforce ViewSonic’s positioning messages.

· Ensure deliverables are targeting the right customers and use the right vehicles.

· Cultivate for clients to have strong confidence in the team’s ability to provide a high level of service that consistently exceeds their expectations.

Serve as Creative Services Project liaison

· Work with client to understand their expectations, budget considerations and timelines.

· Make suggestions where appropriate, and provide alternatives when requests are unattainable.

· Attend creative input, concept presentation and any needed follow-up meetings.

· Proactively communicate: forward all questions and requests to client and appropriate team members; communicate any internal issues or conflicts to schedule or deliverables; keep client and team members aware of project progress, updates, etc. 

· Facilitate fulfillment of all requests from client and teams, including creative brief, estimates, scheduling, and delivery information.

· Follow through with Project Specialist and other team members to ensure adherence to all commitments.

· Resulting in clients that are well informed of project activities and options.

· Projects run smoothly, all team members are provided clear direction for their duties, information is communicated proactively.

Oversee all projects from initiation to completion

· Follow workflow procedures to open projects, complete paperwork as required, obtain client approvals throughout all phases of assigned projects and record activities/status.

· Set up and facilitate all project related meetings to convey project scope and direction; hold internal and external team members accountable for deadlines and commitments; review all materials for content and on target strategy; provide creative team with necessary resources and background information, and consult and support as needed on each assignment.  Resulting in a project workflow that is smooth and efficient, and team members are aware of their respective deadlines and commitments.

· Project direction is clearly defined, eliminating unnecessary concept-ing or rewriting time.  Content of materials is professional and closely aligns with the communications strategy.

· Exhibit clear understanding of marketing communications and the mix of communications tools (online and print) to assist clients; continually educate and stay up-to-date on the field of marketing communications.

· Exhibit clear understanding of industry by staying current with information on products, services, and trends. Read industry trade publications and web sites.

· Demonstrate knowledge of ViewSonic and related industry as well as products and technologies.  Resulting in compelling, insightful marketing tactics that supports the company's position as an industry leader by displaying a clear understanding of the industry, products and services.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing or related field.

· 8-10 years of professional experience managing marketing communications projects. Editing/writing experience preferred. Supervisory experience helpful, but not required.

· Working knowledge of: Marketing, communications strategies, technology/consumer electronics and enterprise products

· Demonstrated skills in: Communication, project management, prioritizing, organizing and recording information, giving and receiving direction, collaborating on a team

· Ability to manage projects and understand business objectives.
