Project Manager

The Gengo project management team is responsible for handling our most complex projects for enterprise customers. Project managers handle a wide range of projects, from doing translation projects for very large Ecommerce customers to designing custom project workflows to support our customers in their machine learning efforts.

We are looking for team players who have experience in project management, but also a strong innovation sense and are excited about new challenges!


  • Analyze project requirements, assess cost and timeline, manage projects and deliver on time with expected quality
  • Manage translation and localization projects using Gengo’s crowdsourcing system
  • Manage projects to collect machine learning data for our customers
  • Create timelines and workflows customized for each project's specific content type, volume, languages and file formats
  • Communicate regularly  with customers and crowdsourcing teams regarding project details and deadlines
  • Document processes and regularly suggest improvements for future iterations


  • Able to work from our Tokyo office
  • Team player skills — you enjoy working with colleagues and succeeding as a team
  • Excellent critical thinking and creative problem solving skills — you like solving complex puzzles with no instructions, you are resourceful and can think out of the box to handle new types of projects
  • Strong technical acumen — no engineering skills required, but you are very familiar with many different technologies and can create dashboards in Excel or Google Sheets. Knowledge of coding languages such as python is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills — contributors are Gengo’s biggest resource and you will be speaking with them daily


Bonus Points

  • Experience of localization tools such as Trados, Memsource as well as Regex skills are a plus
  • Multicultural experience/fluency in additional language(s) a big plus
  • Interest and experience in AI-related projects is a plus
