We are seeking talented engineers who are comfortable working in an agile, test-driven environment. As a Lead Software Development Engineer for the Data Products Engineering team, you’ll be responsible for implementing, maintaining, and evolving big data pipelines, an writing the appropriate unit tests to support those pipelines. Clients for connected displays that integrate with remote data services and mobile devices.

Your mission (should you choose to accept it.) 

  • Develop and support functional and highly performing data Pipelines using SQL/Jscript in a Snowflake based data warehouse.
  • Collaborate with Data Scientists, Business Intelligence Analysts, QA, etc.
  • Participate in peer code reviews for other team members.
  • Provide input on new and existing solutions.
  • Write technical specifications, program documentation, and unit test plans for all work performed.
  • Assist in quality assurance process and customer issue resolution.
  • Partner with product owners, project architect and other team members to drive high-quality, on-time deliverables.
  • Developing tools for data processing, monitoring, alerting, etc.

So, do you have what it takes? 

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 8+ years combined experience.
  • 2+ years in web services development and/or 2+ years in distributed message-based applications.
  • 1+ years as team leader.
  • Proficiency with OLTP databases like PostgreSQL or MySQL.
  • Proficiency with distributed messaging systems like MQTT, Kinesis and Kafka or past experience in ZeroMQ, AMQP, or ActiveMQ.
  • Experience working with AWS infrastructure, Linux, and Docker.
  • Familiarity with terraform a plus.
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming.
  • Experience writing tests for complex applications.
  • Proven track record of shipping software.
  • Excellent problem solving abilities.
  • Outstanding communication skills technical and non-technical, internal and external, both written and verbal.
