Airworthiness Engineer Software & Airborne Electronic Hardware at Volocopter
Bruchsal, DE
In this position, your duties will be to act as part of the Office of Airworthiness and to facilitate the certifiability of the hard- and software developments conducted by Volocopter and its development partners. You will work in close cooperation with the technical experts, nominated Design Engineers and Compliance Verification Engineers and act as a focal point towards all relevant aviation agencies with respect to product certification. With the further growth of the company and the significance of the topic for our products, this position may grow into managing your own team of certification experts.
  • Coordination of generation and alteration of the Certification Program, involving the relevant CVEs
  • Coordination of generation and alteration of Master Compliance documentation based on formally verified compliance documentation, aligned with Certification Program
  • Coordination of occurrence assessment and classification as ‘unsafe’ or ‘not unsafe condition’
  • Verification of development processes for software & airborne electronic hardware on the basis of aviation authority requirements
  • Conduct of internal DOA relevant training activities together with the relevant Team Leads
  • Representation of Volocopter interests and active participation in international industry standards committees drafting standards for eVTOL aircraft
  • Masters degree (or equivalent) in computer sciences, software engineering or comparable discipline
  • 5 years of experience as Compliance Verification Engineer for software & airborne electronic hardware
  • Thorough knowledge of the applicable requirements to Type Certification of products (EASA Part-21) through previous active involvement in EASA Certification projects
  • Knowledgeable in all standards typically applied to software & airborne electronic hardware
  • Fluent English in reading, writing, and speaking
  • Excellent communication skills, proficient in guiding and coaching colleagues with respect to certification of software & airborne electronic hardware
