Sr. Solutions Consultant at ScienceLogic
Reston, VA, US / San Diego, CA, US

ScienceLogic is looking for a proven Senior Solution Consultant with at least six years of experience in infrastructure monitoring/management, ITIL, ITOM, ITSM, APM to join an existing global sales and presales support organization. Success at ScienceLogic is not defined by what you do for yourself, but by what you deliver for our customers, the business and for the employees around you. You’ll be a critical member of a global team providing customers with product and solution advice during pre and post-sales discussions.

The role will be responsible for not only assisting in identifying the appropriate consulting services to be performed but also to deliver the service to the customer. The Senior Solutions Consultant will work on several consulting engagements while delivering current state, risks and recommendations to customers based on interviews and data gathering with the customer. Each day is going to bring new and exciting challenges your way; but with your ability to retain in-depth and hands-on product knowledge combined with your jack-of-all-trades understanding of data center operations technologies, you will regularly be recognized as the most valuable player in securing and maintaining contracts around the world. 

You will provide support to the global sales force, helping them to modernize their delivery capabilities leveraging ScienceLogic’s Automation Engine for AIOps solution while speeding their client’s ITOM and ITSM journey.  The Solution Consultant will participate in the acquisition and retention of customers by utilizing world-class technical pre and post-sales solution consulting techniques to communicate the power, flexibility, and ease-of-use of the ScienceLogic platform.

What you’ll be doing…

No two days will be the same as a Senior Solutions Consultant with ScienceLogic, but here’s a sneak peek into some of the responsibilities you’ll have in the role.

  • Impress partners and enterprise customers alike with your supernatural ability to think on your feet during sales presentations and demonstrations.
  • Work with Solutions Architects to prove that ScienceLogic is the best solution to satisfy a prospect’s technical and business requirements in a proof of concept (POC).
  • Communicating and collaborating with customers and partners to understand their business needs and providing tailored solutions to meet their specific requirements.
  • Interfacing with customers and partners on general and specific issues and involving other experts and / or management as necessary.
  • Producing regular and detailed progress reports to management, including information which may impact target achievements or service delivery.
  • Completing, maintaining and processing pertinent engagement related communications and records.
  • Making contributions to the library of internal and customer-facing technical content (SalesForce).
  • Conducting independent technical research using company supplied research, tools, databases, knowledge bases, etc. in order to find solutions to meet customer requirements.
  • Assist with determining best solutions to help and mature the customer’s ITOM and ITSM Program.
  • Assisting with the development and delivery of new products and services.
  • Ensure that projects are delivered successfully with a high level of customer satisfaction – on time, on budget, to the agreed scope and with the appropriate documentation.
  • Demonstrating and encouraging high quality communication skills to maintain customer satisfaction even in difficult circumstances.
  • Designing ITOM and ITSM Business Models and Practices with processes, procedures, roles and responsibilities.
  • Document why ScienceLogic is different from the competition in emails, phone calls, white board session, RFPs, and other files during the pre and post-sales process.

  • Required - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (economy or IT).
  • Strong ability to listen to customers, probing for business process pains and opportunities, in an effort to meet or exceed their expectations.
  • Excellent consultancy skills, including advising and negotiating skills.
  • Experience and desire to work in a consulting environment.
  • Desirable knowledge of and experience with the application of IT management and business methods/techniques such as ITIL, COBIT, ISPL, ISO20000, VeriSM, etc.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience with IT Operations Management discovery and comparison tools and experience implementing and using.
  • Experience with all computing platforms, e.g. desktop, server, and mainframe
  • Experience developing and documenting business processes.
  • Solid understanding of IT Service Management and IT Operation Management monitoring tools and technologies.
  • Vendor evaluation and vendor management experience.
  • Experience working with remote teams & resources.
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly motivated and results oriented.
  • Uncompromising on quality and strong focus on costs and profitability.
  • Proactive, dynamic and used to work unsupervised in global environment
  • A strong perspective on fundamental changes to the business, trends to consider and opportunities from new technologies, that effect customers and ScienceLogic itself, will be important.
  • Experience of working in a dynamic environment, balancing challenging workloads and deadlines with attention to deliverables.
  • Ability to develop, document and communicate project timelines, processes, organize tasks, plan effectively and manage resources over multiple countries. Effective establishment of priorities and realistic goal-setting.
