As Corporate Counsel, you are responsible for providing senior management with legal advice on company strategies and their implementation, manage the overall legal function, and obtain and oversee the work of any outside counsel. You are also directly involved in complex business transactions and in negotiating critical contracts.


Your mission (should you choose to accept it.)

  • Serve as the company’s lead lawyer/legal advisor on all major business transactions, including deals, agreements, contracts.
  • Provide counsel on strategic deals, provide day-to-day advice, and consult on issues that arise in existing commercial relationships. structuring, drafting and negotiating technology, licensing, marketing, vendor and other commercial agreements.
  • Participate in the definition and development of corporate policies, procedures and programs, as well as provide continuing counsel and guidance on legal matters.
  • Adopt and enforce policies ensuring that the company conducts its business in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, and help to oversee the selection, management and evaluation of any outside counsel.  
  • Responsible for management of internal legal staff.

So, do you have what it takes?

  • Law degree and admitted to the Washington bar.
  • 6-10 years’ combined experience in a both a law firm and an in-house environment.
  • Experience managing other attorneys and supervising support staff; experience with cost-effective management of outside legal resources.
  • Experience in privacy law and international data privacy regulations (GDPR, California, etc.)
  • General knowledge of intellectual property law, including licensing of IP rights and IP due diligence.
