The Position

The Director of Client Development will be responsible for expanding InContext’s customer base by actively marketing our solutions to consumer packaged goods and retail companies. This role is focused on expanding relationship with our existing customers seeking through our VR SAAS platform and research solutions.  

The Director will work across multiple levels and functions within the team.  You will also partner with our technology and shopper insights teams to educate prospective clients and develop proposals that align with business objectives.  This person will need to maintain strong relationships with these cross functional teams to ensure proposals meet the client’s strategic goals.  Our clients often come from one of several areas of their companies, including shopper marketing, shopper insight, consumer insight, and trade marketing.  Ability to understand client’s business issues, overcome objections, up-sell, cross-sell, navigate large multi-faceted organizations, present, write proposals, follow-up and work effectively with InContext’s internal teams to close the deals, will be key in succeeding in this position. As a new role, this position offers a substantial growth opportunity suitable for a candidate who is looking to move up within an organization. Responsibilities:

  • Develop and grow the client relationship and drive new business while leveraging InContext’s entire product and service offering
  • Oversee the execution of existing creative services (SaaS, visualization and market research projects)
  • Maintain a strong relationship with multiple cross functional teams to ensure all team members working on a project understand the client’s point of view to help meet their strategic goals

About you:

  • 5+ years of experience developing and leading strategic and tactical marketing/sales plans in a business-to-business context, while maintaining complex client relationships
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, excellent interpersonal, communication and persuasion skills
  • An innate sense of curiosity and entrepreneurship, along with a desire to independently solve business challenges with customized solutions
  • A solid understanding of common business challenges encountered by consumer goods manufacturers and retailers
  • Familiarity with market research. Experience using market research (directly or indirectly) as a solution to solve client’s business issues is a major plus.
  • Motivation and confidence to develop/close new projects and grow our overall business within an existing portfolio of clients
  • Proven ability to build and develop strong and trusting relationships with clients at all levels
