Junior Solutions Engineer-Enterprise at Kaltura

Kaltura seeks a Junior Solutions Engineer for its North American Enterprise practice. Kaltura is the leading global Online Video Platform, delivering over 15 billion video streams annually to more than 50 million viewers on behalf of Fortune 500 companies, universities, and major media companies.  

The Solution Engineer is a dynamic, hands-on role that works closely with Kaltura's product, sales, and professional services teams to define the appropriate solutions for Kaltura’s clients.  The Junior Solutions teams with other solutions engineers, RFP managers, and sales directors to respond to RFI/RFPs, security reviews, create presentations and demonstrations, and create other technical materials for the sales process.

In addition to product and technical skills, the role requires the ability to translate business needs into technical requirements, and to communicate and present complex technical concepts to anyone in the room.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of web or mobile application development, systems administration, network engineering, or similar and education/training in a technical discipline.

This position is based in the US, and requires up to 25% travel.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

·       Become an expert in all things video and relating to Kaltura’s products and services

·       Lead product demonstrations and discuss Kaltura’s value propositions across different use-cases

·       Document customer use cases and technical requirements

·       Train clients on the use, setup and support of our products

·       Assist in the response to RFIs, RFPs, and security reviews

·       Appear onsite with partner salespeople to help close high-stakes deals

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications and Experience

·       Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or other engineering discipline, or equivalent experience

·       Minimum two years of experience in a customer-focused role such as presales, product design, professional services, or technical support

·       An understanding of software, infrastructure, and security challenges for large corporations and government institutions

·       An understanding of web applications, and delivery such as HTTP, intranet, CDN (internal and external), WAN acceleration, bandwidth contention

·       An understanding of enterprise software deployment models: on-premise vs SaaS cloud vs private cloud vs hybrid

·       Familiarity with typical enterprise applications such as SharePoint, Active Directory, O365, G-Suite, Jive, IBM Connections, or similar

·       Fluent in English

·       Strong problem solving and analytical thinking skills

·       Technical curiosity and an interest in video-related technologies

·       Inherent sales instincts and customer-focused attitude

·       Strong interpersonal skills

·       Highly articulate written and spoken communication skills

 

Other Preferable Skills

·       An understanding of security protocols and methods such as data encryption, HTTPS, SSO, firewalls

·       An understanding of open standards used in web development and video delivery such as JavaScript, PHP, HTML5 and CSS

·       An understanding of enterprise information technology concepts such as networks, firewalls, VPN, VDI, multicasting, hypervisors

·       An understanding of online video technology such as formats, containers, codecs, transcoding, and streaming protocols

·       Familiarity with enterprise business processes, such as procurement & budgeting, change-management, security reviews

·       Familiarity with enterprise video use cases including corporate communications, learning & development, knowledge sharing, & marketing
