Product Manager at Bossa Nova Robotics

At Bossa Nova we create service robots for the global retail industry. Our robots’ mission is to make large scale stores run efficiently by automating the collection and analysis of on-shelf inventory data using state of the art computer vision and artificial intelligence. We drive autonomously through aisles, navigating safely among customers and store associates. If we were a self- driving car we’d be operating at level 5 autonomy.

Oh, we should add, it’s real, happening today, you can meet our robots in some of the world’s biggest retailers.

Position: Product Manager

The Product Manager will report to the Director of Product Management and will be responsible for writing and organizing detailed product requirements that will inform the roadmap for the development team to deliver products/features.

The successful candidate will be able to understand customer expectations; industry best practices; current gaps & technical constraints; participate in developing the roadmap; drive requirements and ultimately partner with Engineering, Operations, Marketing and Sales teams to deliver the optimal customer experience. The Product Manager will be responsible for communicating within the cross-functional team and on behalf of the team to stakeholders and executives.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Engineering team to determine vision and goals of existing and new products
  • Prioritize requirements and specifications for existing and new products
  • Lead and participate in planning meetings and provide advice and guidance on direction of products
  • Manage and serve as primary point of contact for cross-functional teams in design and engineering
  • Demonstrate functionality of completed products to internal team members and other stakeholders
  • Develop metrics to assess the success of products and features and determine necessary enhancements
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of products, solutions, and company offerings
  • Collaborate with program management, marketing, sales and other internal teams to strategize and execute on product features
  • Contribute to a strong product culture of continuous development and rapid test and learn

Work Experience and Job Skills:

  • 3+ years of product management or other relevant experience (preferably as a technical product manager)
  • Experience supporting or owning SaaS and DaaS (data-as-a-service) products
  • Experience within the Retail industry a plus
  • Experience with Agile Product Management software (i.e., Jira)
  • Experience working directly with engineers and designers to develop and iterate on products
  • Ability to be creative, flexible, strategic, analytical; interest and willingness to solve complex problems
  • Strong project management, time management, and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with keen ability to explain complex concepts across the organization and to diverse audiences
  • Enthusiastic, proactive, positive attitude with great listening skills and high integrity
  • Strong writing and presentation skills

Education:

  • BS in Computer Science or Engineering
  • MBA or Master's degree
