Sr. Marketing Manager, Europe at Synthego

Synthego is looking for an experienced, results-oriented Senior Marketing Manager Europe to play a significant role in bringing our continued success to Europe. This position reports to the Commercial Head Europe and involves interfacing directly with multiple teams within the company, including Global Marketing, Product Management, and Sales.
The Senior Marketing Manager Europe will own Synthego's lead development and lead nurturing, as well as the event marketing strategy and execution for Europe. This person will contribute to product messaging and positioning, develop scientific/technical presentation decks, generate customer case studies, contribute to other technical marketing collateral, and perform other related duties as needed.
We seek a passionate team player producing high-caliber experiences that help us connect with customers and will work collaboratively with executive leadership and global sales teams to produce and identify sponsorships, develop and execute 1st party events, explore and manage speaking opportunities, support bi-annual customer advisory boards, and more in an effort to drive meaningful revenue and report high ROI for the company.

What You'll Do

      • Lead the strategic planning and creative development of event initiatives in Europe, proactively managing all event needs from branding, agenda design, content creation, and venue selection to event execution, reporting and optimization
      • Manage 20-30 European trade shows annually, with budgets from €5,000 - €100,000, and accountability for reviewing and tracking all expenditures.
      • Act as single point of contact between Synthego and trade show/event organizations; proactively provide trade show organization(s) with all contract-related information as well as supporting marketing and promotional materials.
      • Collaborate with internal teams, and engage with industry organizations and external vendors to deliver world-class event programs that drive successful results against strategic objectives, timelines and financial goals
      • Work cross functionally with other team members for all events deliverables including tracking lead generation and updating information in the CRM system, coordinate with in-house resources for travel and accommodations, arrange audio visual and handout materials for participants.
      • Ability to manage team members and contractors as needed.
      • Make contributions to new product launches
      • Create, edit, and manage educational and thought leadership content in many formats, including case studies, presentation decks, scientific posters, blog posts, and more
      • Work closely with global marketing and product management team leaders to ensure that all content is consistent with Synthego’s brand, messaging, and voice 
      • Provide top-tier support to our sales team to ensure they have what they need to be successful
      • Contribute to overall marketing strategy 
      • Must travel domestically and internationally 20-30% of the time.

About You

      • Bachelor's degree in marketing or related field, or equivalent work experience.
      • 5+ years of event management and planning experience; experience in the adtech/martech, and/or biotech tech B2B industry preferred
      • Self-motivated, highly organized and articulate with excellent verbal and written communications skills
      • High energy with an eye for details and a passion for organizing world-class experiences
      • Exceptional problem-solving skills with a can-do attitude and a "calm under pressure" demeanor
      • Highly productive with strong time management and multitasking skills, flexibility and professional confidence with a bias for teamwork and collaboration
      • Strong project management and decision-making skills with the ability to quickly recognize or anticipate problems and quickly develop solutions
      • Strong venue sourcing, negotiation and contract management
      • Experience with CRM systems, marketing automation, event platforms and email marketing
      • Willing and able to travel (~30% both domestically and Internationally)
      • Experienced researching and rapidly learning complex scientific concepts and conveying them in writing so they are easily understandable
      • Solid understanding of product marketing fundamentals and taking an “omni-channel” approach to marketing

Nice to Haves

      • Experience working in a startup environment
      • In-depth understanding of CRISPR
      • Familiar with HubSpot or other marketing automation software
      • Proven track record of managing contractors and vendors
