Growth Media Manager at What3Words

Brilliant people make what3words. We’re a team of quiz-creators, world-travellers, linguists and more, determined to make a difference. We are looking for an ambitious Media Manager to add to this mix – playing a key role of an “all things digital media” specialist within the Growth team.

Reporting to the Growth Lead, you will be the subject matter expert responsible for ideation, planning and execution of digital campaigns within the team.

 

So, what are the kind of things you’ll be up to?

  • You will own the idea. Everybody at what3words is responsible for doing it justice – your role within the Growth team will be key to this.
  • You will work closely with the Head of Growth and Growth Lead, as well as your fellow Growth Managers, in bringing to life what3words’ growth strategy through digital media.
  • You will be the go to person for all things digital activation. We have some amazing media tech being developed within the company, and we want a seasoned professional to help us get the most out of it. Think quick campaigns, fast learning, repeat. You have access to an in-house specialist Analytics team, alongside an award-winning creative shop.

Requirements

What do we expect from you?

  • We ask that you are ambitious, and that you have experience solving problems relevant to the ones you think we’re tackling at what3words. We do all of our work based on data, so you must be comfortable with numbers.
  • Growth people aren’t necessarily all the same shape, but for this role, we’re looking for a specialist. You will likely be a digital marketer through and through, cutting your teeth in a high performing digital client side role or through a top digital media agency. Ideally, you will have experience of both Media Activation and Planning, from both a strategic and tactical point of view.
  • We run campaigns and initiatives across all digital channels, and we would want you to have experience as to how these may be implemented to execute against Growth objectives – not just floodlight fires. You will be asked to back up any thoughts you have on this with evidence on application.

Extra credit if:

  • You have experience in Growth functions in other start-ups, or equally fast paced environment.
  • You have language skills – running campaigns globally is far easier if we do not have to rely on translators.
  • You have experience in geotech, or have worked with large quantities of location data in previous roles.
