Growth Manager at What3Words

Brilliant people make what3words. We’re a team of quiz-creators, world-travellers, linguists and more, determined to make a difference. We are looking for an ambitious Growth marketer to add to this mix.

Reporting to the Growth Lead, you will be responsible for the ideation and delivery of high impact, data led global Growth initiatives. You will be surrounded by analytics and tech gurus, have access to world class creatives and by empowered by the autonomy to design, run and execute whatever is needed in building out a proprietary global standard in addressing.

So, what are the kind of things you’ll be up to?

  • You will own the idea. Everybody at what3words is responsible for doing it justice – your role within the Growth team will be key to this.
  • You will work closely with your fellow Growth Managers and Analysts in bringing to life what3words’ growth strategy. This could be brainstorming innovative ways to increase the number of people using a 3 word address, or working with our global partners in boosting the number of 3 word address searches in our rapidly developing ecosystem.
  • You will be responsible for a wide mix of projects across different marketing channels, various industry verticals and multiple departments internally. You will have to manage your time effectively, always hitting deadlines, from concept, to implementation, to reporting back. Nail this, and you’ll will be rewarded by having an incredible diversity of experiences, challenges and learning opportunities.


What do we expect from you?

  • We ask that you are ambitious, and that you have experience solving problems relevant to the ones you think we’re tackling at what3words. We do all of our work based on data, so you must be comfortable with numbers.
  • Growth people aren’t all the same shape. You could be a digital marketer, analyst or project manager. Some of us come from academia, some from media agencies, some from other tech companies. All experience will be taken into account.
  • We run campaigns and initiatives across all digital channels, and we would want you to have experience as to how these may be implemented to execute against Growth objectives. You will be asked to back up any thoughts you have on this with evidence on application.


Extra credit if:

  • You have experience in Growth functions in other start-ups, or equally fast paced environment.
  • You have language skills – running campaigns globally is far easier if we do not have to rely on translators.
  • You have experience in geotech, or have worked with large quantities of location data in previous roles.
