Senior Site Reliability Engineer - NYC at Movable Ink
New York City, NY, US

As a member of the DevOps team, you will learn about and help to build an infrastructure that allows Movable Ink to serve hundreds of millions of impressions a day for its customers.  You will be responsible for scaling our systems and processes to ensure that we are always able to meet our client's needs.  The ideal candidate will be detail oriented with a focus on stability.

Responsibilities of the Senior Site Reliability Engineer Engineer:

  • Manage the infrastructure that makes our real-time content serving platform possible
  • Ensure that our platform is scalable, fault tolerant and highly available
  • Build configuration and automation tools to simplify the process of deploying, upgrading, and scaling systems and software across our environment
  • Participate in the creation and maintenance of the systems that build, configure, deploy, and test our applications
  • Consider performance, scalability, and reliability in all decision making

Basic Qualifications Needed:

  • Bachelors Degree, or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years experience deploying and maintaining high-traffic environments serving in excess of 5,000 requests per second
  • Exposure to AWS and its use in building scalable, fault-tolerant infrastructure
  • Knowledge of configuration management tools like Chef, Ansible, or Puppet
  • Strong communication skills - able to work effectively with technical and non-technical teammates
  • Willing to participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation
  • Experience with Ruby, Javascript, and/or Go

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Borderline obsessive attention to detail
  • Able to think on your feet and response quickly and efficiently in the face of disaster
  • Capable of troubleshooting application and system issues at any level of the stack
  • An eye for monitoring and alerting to detect and resolve problems before customers, internal or external, know they exist
  • Driven to ensure that being on-call is boring
  • Eagerness to learn and apply new technologies and skills
  • Passionate about uptime
