Account Manager at Venafi

The Opportunity:
Venafi is a rapidly growing cyber security organization which helps our customers prevent trust-based attacks. Venafi is widely recognized as the leader in managing, securing and protecting cryptographic keys and digital certificates that every business and government depend on for secure communications, commerce, computing, and mobility.

 We define the overarching journey of a Venafi customer from the point when they first show interest in solving a machine identity protection problem, contract with us either directly or through a reseller, start to climb the Venafi maturity curve, and continue to expand as the number and velocity of their machine identities increases.  There is no end to the journey. The ideas of pre-sale and post-sale are legacy ideas that are not relevant as we are constantly working with customers to renew and expand.  In one sense we are continually selling and therefore there is no post sale. Renewal and expansion are activities that include a sales transaction, so we need to consider that we are continuously selling.

This model of continuing selling to an existing customer, requires a seasoned Account Manager.

In this role you will be responsible for educating and driving revenue of Venafi products and services to existing customers and in addition ensuring that at a minimum, existing subscription renewals are maintained.

You and your peers have the opportunity to work with broad cross section of Venafi team members, including field sales and technical teams, customer support team members, engineering and development teams and Venafi executive management.

For the right person, this role can quickly lead to a leadership position within Venafi.

 Minimum Skills and Experience required:

  • Above all else, a desire to see customers succeed and a tight cultural fit with the Venafi culture
  • 8+ years in a sales including experience working directly with customers to advance their success in using a vendor’s solutions
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Strong MS Excel skills and/or business intelligence tools skills required
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • SFDC experience preferred
  • Proven track record of working with all levels of the business up to C-Level
  • Ability to collaborate productively across functions
  • Understanding of recent trends and developments in customer success
  • Ability to prioritize and balance multiple, on-going projects
  • Ability to motivate others
