R3 is a financial innovation firm that leads a consortium partnership with over 100 of the world's leading financial institutions. We work together to design and deliver advanced distributed ledger technologies to the global financial markets.
 
R3 has employees based in over 11 (and counting!) countries across the globe, with our headquarters in London, alongside office locations in New York City and Singapore. Our vibrant and centrally located offices are filled with collaborative spaces, healthy (and some not so healthy!) snacks and state of the art work spaces and equipment.
 
We are a small HR team of three and due to growth of the Company and departmental responsibilities, we are looking to add a HR Business Partner who can offer greater support in the EMEA and APAC regions.  You would support our employees based in London, Germany, India, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taipei, and Australia.
 
Joining another HRBP looking after the Americas region, a HR Coordinator supporting the Company globally, and reporting to the Head of HR, this role is for someone looking to define themselves. We also work closely with a small Recruitment team.
 
The HR Business Partner will provide a wide range of employee services and will deliver the HR strategy, aligned to business goals, whilst providing coaching and support to employees throughout the Company. In understanding the Company vision and purpose, they will build credibility by combining commercial and HR expertise to add value to the business.

Responsibilities

    • Undertake payroll and benefits administration, including acting as the contact person for both Finance and Payroll providers in the countries they are responsible for.
    • Ensuring our HRIS, Payroll and other systems are up to date.
    • People skills to become a trusted advisor on all employee relations matters, both for employees, and in coaching managers through local processes, considering the managers may not be based in your region.
    • Contact with APAC and EMEA based colleagues
    • Assist with on-boarding for new joiners
    • Process driven and strive to improve these where needed, and considering we are a fast-paced start up, appreciating we may not have all policies or procedures “established” yet, and be able to think on the fly without these, and look to create them in future.
    • Understand the strategy, communication and logistics of rolling out HR projects is vital to our Company’s success and deliver accordingly.
    • Upskilling and developing our employees across the Company, and able to develop training or workshop content for management and employees. 
    • Sourcing providers for L&D Company-wide or bespoke requirements for our employees and working to understand these.
    • Staying curious and wanting to stay relevant and up to date on local laws and regulations to ensure the Company’s HR policies, contractual terms and documentation are compliant, and we maintain solid communication with our employees on compliance matters.
    • Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
    • Fantastic interpersonal skills will be essential
    • Juggling multiple priorities and projects, having the drive to make a difference to an exciting and growing organization
    • Excellent project management skills to drive HR initiatives, from conception to implementation. As a relatively young Company, much of what we touch here is new, making R3 a great greenfield space.
    • Analyse data from multiple sources, or gather data directly to help develop and implement action.
    • Identifying HR needs, trends and requirements to ensure HR remains relevant to our businesses
    • Ability to use HR reporting & analytics in generating insights and presenting findings back to the business, as well as tracking
    • Your employment law knowledge for the regions / countries you support should be strong.  A particular focus on the UK is a must, and experience of working within the APAC region (even at a distance) would be advantageous, particularly Singapore.
    • The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate their skills and HR knowledge to support the business. You will need to be a well organised, with a good knowledge of HR and proven analytical skills, professional and confident with the ability to prioritise a busy workload. As a representative of the HR team, excellent communications skills and the ability to remain calm and reliable under pressure and challenge are also essential.

Qualifications

    • Experience as a HR practitioner or Business Partner in an international environment, with a broad knowledge across a wide range of HR disciplines.
    • Experience within the Technology (Software) Industry preferred.
    • 5+ years HR experience.
    • The right candidate would preferably have a relevant qualification in business or HR, or have CIPD Affiliation / Accreditation.  If not then a desire to work towards this.
