Vehicle Integration Engineer at Aeye

AEye is looking for a highly motivated customer focused vehicle integration engineer.  This role involves interaction/ collaboration with an interdisciplinary team of optical scientists, data scientists, and embedded and client-side software engineers. Candidates should be excellent engineers and organizers that have demonstrated the ability to learn quickly and work effectively in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment. Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches his or her work with vigor and determination.
Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Support strategic customer engagements bringing in specific vehicle/ sensor integration expertise.
  • Lead the design of sensor mounting systems that will allow for the evaluation of multiple sensor types, positions, and orientations.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Essential Skill & Experience Requirements (required):
  • Degree in physics or engineering.
  • Expertise in vehicle electrical systems. Knowledge of CAN, TTP, LIN, Ethernet, FlexRay, Autosar, etc. 
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Automotive industry background. Tier 1 experience desirable.
  • Strong customer facing communication skills. 
  • Proven experience with integrating automotive sensor systems into vehicles.
  • Light machining and mechanical integration experience.
  • Analysis of performance, calibration, data collection, system integration & testing.

Preferred Skills & Experience (useful):
  • Experience in a fast-paced and demanding start-up experience.
  • Advanced degree with background in optics, lasers or photonics.
  • Basic coding experience in C/C++/Scripting. Some image processing background would be great.
  • Experience with SolidWorks.
  • Proven history of successfully working across multiple projects.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and changing deadlines.
  • Able to occasionally travel to exciting places to support vehicles.
  • A willingness to oversee an issue from start to finish with minimal oversight.
  • The ability to be versatile and flexible in your workflow.
  • Can quickly create and lead cross-team task forces to resolve issues.
  • Assist in the testing of various components in the vehicle to assure proper functionality.
  • Ability to produce timely, logical, and concise work products.
  • Ability to handle concurrent programs and work effectively independently, in a team, or collaborative environment.
  • Experience in a fast-paced and demanding start-up experience.
