Director of Product Management at Bossa Nova Robotics

At Bossa Nova we create service robots for the global retail industry. Our robots’ mission is to make large scale stores run efficiently by automating the collection and analysis of on-shelf inventory data. We drive autonomously through aisles, navigating safely among customers and store associates.

Job Overview:

As a Director of Product Management, your focus will be working on responsibilities related to product management, specifically around software/data monetization and working with retailers. The Product Management will enable best in class customer adoption of our Go-to-Market and Sales business processes. This position will focus on use cases, specifically around retail and brands to deliverable delightful customer experience. Given the transformational and disruptive nature of the business, the role will require generating capabilities and roadmaps that are desirable, feasible, and viable.   This position will also analyze consumer needs, current market trends, and potential partnerships from an ROI and build vs. partner perspective.  The Director of Product Management will work with senior leadership as stakeholders as well as development, project team to make ideas actionable.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Drive the execution of all product lifecycle processes for products, including product research, market research, competitive analysis, planning, positioning, roadmap development, requirements development, and product launch
  • Translate product strategy into detailed requirements for prototype construction and final product development by engineering teams
  • Create product strategy documents that describe business cases, high-level use cases, technical requirements, revenue, and ROI
  • Analyze market data to develop sales strategies, and define product objectives for effective marketing communications plans
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, production, marketing, and sales teams on the development, QA, and release of products and balance of resources to ensure success for the entire organization
  • Develop product positioning and messaging that differentiates Bossa Nova and its features across primary market segments
  • Assume a creative role in creating customer-facing content that can help customers improve time to value
  • Be a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders
  • Develop skill and competency on latest solutions and technologies relevant for internal sales processes
  • Be involved in product management lifecycle of bringing customer asks/use cases to the next generation product and solution capabilities.
  • Derive requirements, primarily for API’s and other data services and products
  • Drive the product and business-planning process across cross-functional teams of the company
  • Assess current competitor offerings, seeking opportunities for differentiation
  • Analyze product requirements and develop appropriate programs to ensure they’re successful achieved – drive requirements from idea to requirements to execution
  • Develop, implement, and maintain production timelines across multiple departments
  • Appraise new product ideas and strategize appropriate to-market plans

Education and Qualifications/Skills and Competencies:

  • Driven to support customer adoption
  • Graduate in Computer Science/Software Engineering or equivalent (helpful, but not required)
  • Experience with data monetization for retail and brands is a major point of differentiation
  • Quick Learner, passionate, motivated and self-managed.  Experience managing teams and working collaboratively with engineering.
  • Ability to work in an international, virtual and highly diverse team
  • Excellent English skills
  • Customer-focused, business acumen and good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Project management skills as it applies to Cloud


  • A minimum of 5 years; experience with developing new products, especially in the data monetization/retail space.
  • Ability to work well in a virtual and highly diverse team as well as independently and have a positive self-motivated can-do attitude
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to think in a complex and rapidly changing environment
