Senior FW Engineer at Kazan Networks

Kazan Networks is seeking an experienced FW Engineer with excellent analytical and technical skills for firmware architecture, design/coding and verification of next generation storage networking ASICs. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a small but growing business going after a hot new market!

  • 10 or more years of experience in design, implementation and verification of firmware for embedded CPUs for storage and/or networking ASICs
  • Strong understanding of firmware design – technology, methods and approaches
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong FPGA platform based development and testing experience
  • Proficiency in structured firmware and software programming (C/C++, assembly, script languages)
  • Strong protocol knowledge in one or more of the following areas: PCIe, RDMA protocols, NVMe, TCP/IP, Ethernet, SCSI, Fibre Channel, SAS, SATA
  • Experience in using firmware debugging tools such as JTAG, In-Circuit Emulator, scopes and logic/bus analyzer
  • Hands-on experience in verification and trouble-shooting in an embedded firmware application with ARM based development tools
  • 5 years minimum experience with Network protocol stack implementation
  • 5 years minimum experience working with an RTOS
  • Proven track record with writing detailed test plans
  • Problem solving skills and out-of-the-box thinking to test and validate hardware with embedded CPUs
  • Team player with a can-do attitude and willingness to work well in a group environment while still being able to contribute on an individual basis
  • Experience interacting with Linux OS, Networking/Storage drivers, BIOS
