Global Marketing Manager – London at What3Words
London, GB

We are looking for an experienced marketing manager who is ready to make the jump to an award-winning start-up and help us change the world. We have a well-defined marketing strategy and need the right person to refine, build and implement the strategy at a local level in partnership with our on-the-ground teams and agency partners.

As the Global Marketing Manager you will work as a liaison between the global and local team to coordinate our local consumer acquisition & retention campaigns. This will include overall strategic alignment, project management and relationship building, all with a keen eye for detail, a knack for great creative work and a flair for cross-discipline stakeholder management.

We are looking for a dynamic individual who will bring many new ideas to the table and who will be excited to learn about market nuances, understand each local market consumer database and will continuously be excited by exploring new high impact tactics to drive downloads and engagement. You will be motivated for a culture of testing, learning and scaling. This role is key to shaping the local presence of our company, and Global Marketing Manager needs to exude the energy, passion and drive to change the world that each of our individual employees possesses.




  • Manage local marketing & activation plans in conjunction with local agency partners (where applicable) and local & global team members
    • Write creative briefs
    • Manage budgets & production timelines
    • Ensure all required assets are delivered at the highest quality and on-time and on budget, with approval from the Global team
  • Ongoing prioritization and work to connect & align local teams with global team experts, tools and road maps
  • Manage local community management resource; ensure they follow global best practice and use all required global tools effectively
  • Oversee design of our local social media assets (e.g.,: Facebook cover photo, profile pic, thumbnails, ads, landing pages, Twitter profile, and blog), working in partnership with the London team
  • Work with local team to design, create and manage promotions and tactical Social ad campaigns
  • Work with local team to update WordPress site content where relevant to support local social media needs
  • Work with local team to guide local Partners on communications about what3words

About You


You will have:

  • Approx 5 years of experience
  • Excellent understanding of all media channels both on and off line
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Calm under pressure
  • Strong project management skills and ability to maintain order despite many competing priorities and needs
  • An eye for great creative and ability to collaborate well with Creative Director
  • Experience managing integrated campaigns, including events, media sponsorships, print, radio, TV, paid social; ideally you have worked on/with both B2B and B2C brands
  • Experience managing advertising and media agency partners; ability to build strong, respected relationships that motivate the agency to deliver to the highest quality standard, on time and on budget
  • Experience developing strategic proposals and executing them
  • Ability to assimilate information quickly
  • Experience managing many stakeholders at global and local level

  • Have run your own business or worked in a fast growing start-up in a similar role, and been demonstrably influential in its fast growth.
  • Fluency in other languages, e.g., Arabic, Spanish, German, Portuguese
