Undergraduate Engineering Intern at Ayar Labs
Emeryville, CA, US

As an intern at Ayar Labs, you will work alongside world-class engineers and scientists in the field of electronics and photonics. You will be part of a small, collaborative team working on the next generation of computing technologies. Projects will be chosen to match the experience and interests of each intern, and you will be mentored by a senior engineer.

 
Project areas include:
  • Automated test and measurement development
  • Characterization and analysis of high-speed photonics devices
  • Characterization and analysis of semiconductor lasers
  • Development of open-source Python-based design, simulation, and layout software
  • Mechanical fixture design for a variety of testing platforms
  • Specialty fiber component characterization and evaluation
 
The ideal candidate is a hands-on self-starter who is able to work both as part of a team and independently to develop and complete work, and who can effectively manage his or her own time to take projects to completion.
 
Requirements:
  • Actively pursuing an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
