Director, Sales Strategy & Operations at DocuSign

Position Summary:

The Director of Sales Strategy & Operations role is a highly qualified position in strategy, planning and sales operations. The selected candidate will be accountable for driving the continued success of aligned sales segment leadership.


Partnering with the heads of sales to track and assess the business via a data-driven approach:

  • Design and interpret key performance metrics, and craft plans and present recommendations to senior management to address identified opportunities
  • Drive rigorous sales execution and oversight, ensuring accurate weekly forecasts and total transparency
  • Build executive presentations (e.g. Quarterly Business Reviews), crafting the messages of Sales Leaders
  • Work cross-functionally (with Marketing, Sales Development, Finance, Legal, Compliance, Talent, Customer Success) to assist in the development of go-to-market strategies for all teams
  • Design and implement the sales distribution model
  • Owning the main planning activities across each financial year (Segmentation, Business Planning, Headcount Allocation, Territory Carving, Quota Allocation and new segment entry)
  • Delivering projects to improve the business in the long-term such as new business growth, new distribution channels, operational playbooks and resource trade-offs.

Desired Skills/Experience:

  • Strong Experience in sales strategy or equivalent function with significant exposure to sales teams, or experience in management consulting with strong exposure to B2B and B2B2C go-to-market strategy
  • Sales experience, preferably technology-related, is valued, but not required
  • Experience working in the EMEA market
  • Ability to conduct sophisticated and creative analysis, yet translate those results to easily digestible messages, communications, and presentations:
    • Extremely strong presentation/story telling skills
    • Very strong executive presence and engagement skills
    • Highly collaborative style with strong influence skills
    • Assertiveness, directness, and a “company first” mentality
    • Facility with financial modeling and tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
    • BS/BA required; MBA a plus
