Director, Global Sales Operations at Urban Airship
San Francisco, CA, US

The Director, Global Sales Operations will have direct responsibility to develop, maintain and evolve the processes and systems required to enable an efficient and effective worldwide sales organization in an exciting high growth SaaS business environment.  As part of the Sales Operations Team you will have a key role supporting strategic and tactical initiatives as you work side by side with Sales Management and work cross functionally with Marketing, Customer Success and Finance.



  • Sales team business partner and liaison to marketing, customer success and finance
  • Responsible for sales analytics, business intelligence and reporting
  • Support strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting and analysis
  • Support sales comp plan design, territory planning, quota assignment and reporting
  • Develop and maintain sales performance measurement via reports, dashboards and metrics
  • Provide visibility throughout pipeline from lead to order and throughout customer lifetime including retention and expansion
  • Provide operational training and tools to sales team to optimize productivity and maintain their focus on revenue generating activities
  • Actively participate in onboarding new team members
  • Train on processes and develop dashboards and templates to optimize team productivity
  • Provide regularly scheduled ongoing training to keep team current on workflow and tools and identify areas for further improvement
  • Proactively develop sales reporting and measurement of KPI’s to optimize the productivity of the sales team
  • Provide visible sales reporting for motivation and furthering our high-energy environment.
  • Administer and leverage and other business intelligence tools to standardize scalable processes, modeling/analysis and reporting, and increase sales and SDR productivity
  • Evaluate currently available tools and new technologies that become available for applicability
  • Stay current on industry best practices and periodic new releases of functionality to improve or scale processes
  • Directly plan and manage Sales Enablement team
  • Ensure proper interpretation of sales data and identify key insights for management and sales team based on sales analysis and reporting
  • Actively participate in weekly sales meetings and periodic sales events
  • Participate in cross functional meetings where representation of sales data and process is key
  • Participate as a key member of the company Leadership Team to evaluate key strategic initiative, plan their design, and implementation
  • Maintain accuracy of sales data that feeds quote to cash business processes and sales comp admin processes
  • Work closely with other Sales Operations functions to ensure smooth hand offs and efficient processes 


  • 10+ years of experience with Sales Operations supporting Sales, with experience in SaaS industry
  • Strong analytical and technical skills coupled with excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Certification and experience as a Administrator is strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in Excel and financial modeling and ability to clearly explain business impact of alternatives
  • Proactive analysis and recommendations to sales and senior management
  • Proactive approach to business and process improvement
  • Attention to both detail and big picture as appropriate for specific task or project
  • Ability and desire to work in fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or related field
