Director, Professional Services - North America at Urban Airship

The Director, Professional Services, North America is responsible for leading, building and managing a world-class professional services organization. The leader will be a trusted advisor partnering with our subscription sales organization, ensure high-quality project implementation, set the strategic vision and direction, operating an efficient and effective day-to-day manage of the practice, and energize teams to innovate and deliver best practices and expert solutions to all customers. 

The leader must understand and own all aspects of the practice including: selling, practice management, services operations, Urban Airship solutions, technology tools and effective staffing of resources in a multi-client per consultant environment. The Director must be willing to get in the trenches with their colleagues to maintain and reinforce a can-do attitude, growth mindset, and goal-oriented environment that values employee performance, teamwork, accountability and shared success. As a part of the management team, this person should know how to become a catalyst in the organization that can manage constant change with empathy and emotional intelligence, while transforming the organization towards hyper-growth and scale.

We are looking for an experienced Director with a track record of leading, managing, monitoring and driving continuous improvement across all aspects with Urban Airship’s solutions and services. They must build and carry vision of a world-class professional services organization and know how to lead the team on a road map towards achieving an end-state destination with our prospects, customers and the industry.


Responsibilities:

  • Own the North America professional services practice, which includes selling services, creating service offerings, implementing projects and making all our enterprise customers successful.
  • Partner and align closely with the subscription sales organization with a consultative value selling approach into marketing organizations of large enterprise accounts.
  • Create and promote innovative and best-in-class industry professional services offerings.
  • Jointly collaborate with our preferred services partners across North America to ensure high quality projects that ensure success and realized value for our customers.
  • Proactively manage risk of the enterprise project portfolio to ensure healthy customer in every project and operationalize internal process to measure, monitor and alert key stakeholder to act.
  • Manage and plan all metrics of the department, including planning and financial forecasting; sustainable capacity plans, bookings, revenue and margin targets.
  • Recruit and hire top industry talent with strong digital marketing skills to match a growing team.
  • Support the automation of internal tools to streamline forecasting and delivery processes.

 
Required Skills/Experience:

  • A leader with 10+ years leading professional services organizations within technology solutions companies across all key functions: selling, project management, people management, and operations.
  • P&L management of a North American geography with >$20m in annual services revenue.
  • 5+ years of project management experience with a demonstrated record of success in leading software implementations with a Big 4 consulting firm, leading systems integrator, the professional services practice of a leading software firm, or a comparable organization
  • Experience leading solution-selling professional services alongside enterprise account executives during software/subscription and services sales cycles.
  • Deep experience with SaaS software implementations for large and global enterprise systems integrations work and partner strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate between the business and technical domains of a software implementation project, providing leadership in both
  • Strong operational, analytical, problem solving and communication skills
  • Experienced in partner strategies and execution against a plan to build out partner eco system.
  • Team player that is self-motivated and proactive.
  • Superior client relationship skills and ability to focus on multiple client needs simultaneously.
  • Adept with project management tools, consulting methodologies, Gainsight and Salesforce Sales Cloud.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required, Advanced Degree strongly preferred
