SEC Reporting Manager at Carbon Black

We are seeking an SEC Reporting Manager with career growth potential to drive our external reporting and technical accounting research efforts, as well as play an important role in achieving Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. The ideal candidate for this visible role will be a CPA with Big-4 firm experience either auditing or working at publicly traded companies. The position reports to a highly experienced Assistant Controller.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare all SEC financial filings in accordance  with GAAP and SEC rules (including XBRL)
  • Prepare/coordinate quarterly earnings releases
  • Complete GAAP disclosure checklist to ensure all required GAAP disclosures and accounting are considered
  • Proactively research technical accounting matters and prepare accounting treatment position papers
  • Support Sarbanes-Oxley internal control planning, documentation, and controls testing
  • Support annual external audits and quarterly reviews
  • Perform complex ongoing accounting tasks, e.g., stock-based compensation, earnings per share
  • Coordinate with external tax advisors on income tax provision preparation and related disclosures
  • Drive continuous improvement in the timeliness and accuracy of the external reporting process
  • Support other accounting-related projects as needed

Requirements

  • Big 4 CPA with minimum of five years of experience
  • Public company reporting exposure
  • BS Accounting degree
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP system reporting
  • Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Collaborative communicator
  • Willingness to help out when needed in other accounting areas
  • Upbeat/positive personality outlook
