Manual QA Engineer at Parallels

   As a QA engineer at Parallels, you will perform manual testing for a comprehensive virtual application and desktop delivery solution, which was engineered in Malta. Remote Application Server is a cross-platform solution with an immense list of features (to keep you busy!) and we provide dozens of a new cool features with every release (never get bored!).

    In RAS team we developed an effective software development process, we use top-level software development tools and modern technologies. We are looking for a new teammate, who has a passion for continuing education and improving product quality, is an inquisitive, detail minded and eager to deep dive into a variety of different sets of technology.


Responsibilities and primary tasks


  • Review system requirements specification, features descriptions and present test scenarios
  • Assist with test plan creation and setting up test environment
  • Use Test Management Tool to develop manual test scripts and to generate the QA metrics.
  • Manual execution of functional testing, regression testing and non-functional testing, including stress, performance and load testing, related to test plans and test projects
  • Report issues identified in the bug-tracking tool and ensure these are assigned and resolved.
  • Verification of fixes on pre-production and production environments
  • Provide test reports to the Head of QA & Testing.


Required Experience:

  • 1 year of related work experience
  • Experience configuring and administering Microsoft Windows Server
  • Experience working with any of command line tools


Essential Professional competences:

  • Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, strong ability to think strategically and analyse information timely and accurately
  • Degree or Diploma in Computer Science or any other related field
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and committed to reach QA deadlines


Desired skills and experience:

Experience writing scripts using bash/python/powershell

Experience with VMware, Hyper-V or any other virtualisation platform

Experience with bug tracking tools, test management tools
