BrightEdge is currently seeking a Revenue Recognition Manager who will oversee the Company’s day-to-day revenue accounting operations and own the entire revenue close process. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of revenue accounting principles under US GAAP and ASC 605/606 for a SaaS business and will handle complex revenue issues. This is a critical and highly visible role in the implementation, documentation, and accurate recording of revenue.

Key Resposibilities

    • Review sales contract T&Cs to ensure revenue is recognized in accordance with US GAAP and internal policies.
    • Work collaboratively with Legal, Sales, Business Operations, Billing, Professional Services, and FP&A to drive best practices in revenue recognition.
    • Consult with Business Operations and Order Management on deal structure and terms for revenue compliance and optimization.
    • Research accounting guidance and prepare technical memos to document Company's position on revenue transactions.
    • Manage month end close processes relating to revenue recognition.
    • Manage quarterly and year-end audit requests and drive issue resolution.
    • Support ASC 605 and 606 system enhancements and operationalization.
    • Streamline and manage monthly manual data integrity and review processes.
    • Understanding and prior experience with design and implementation of revenue accounting policies and procedures and internal controls to assist with narratives and risk control matrices.


    • Supervise staff of 3 members of revenue recognition team.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA preferred.
    • Big 4 Public accounting experience preferred.
    • 5+ years of public and private SaaS industry experience.
    • Commitment to continuous process improvement.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and a team player, adept at building relationships across the organization.
    • Well-developed analytic and problem-solving skills.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and PowerPoint software applications.
    • Experience with Salesforce and NetSuite a MUST.
    • Experience with high-volume billing and/or experience with managing data systems
    • Ability to exhibit poise, composure and confidence when confronting stressful or high-pressure situations.
