Sr. Software Engineer (Communications) at Peloton

Peloton seeks a Senior Software Engineer to own communications between and within our platooning systems. The Senior Software Engineer will contribute to the platform and drive communications to interoperate with Peloton enabled trucks, other vehicles, RSUs and other infrastructure as the technology matures.
Responsibilities include design, development, test, release and support of the software radio, DSRC, LTE and Wi-Fi related work at Peloton. As a member of the software team, this role will interact with the Hardware RF team, Safety team, External Affairs team and SAE working groups.  This is a chance to be part of the autonomous revolution and drive the future of the technology.

Required Skills

    • Excellent coding experience with C and C++ in a Real Time Linux environment
    • Experience developing test plans and procedures of complex systems including requirements/test traceability
    • Demonstrated abilities to write automated tests for the communications systems designed
    • Hands-on experience integrating and testing one or more of these: DSRC, Cellular V2X, LTE, Wi-Fi and proprietary wireless data protocols
    • Experience making tradeoffs for make, remake vs buy decisions
    • Familiarity with either telematics, networking, wired, wireless, in-vehicle or V2V V2I communications protocols (examples: 3G, 4G LTE, 5G, UDP, IEEE802.11, CAN, V2V, V2I, V2X)
    • Excellent communication skills and attention to details
    • Excellent presentation and organization skills

Nice to Have

    • Able to work effectively as a team leader
    • Secure communications experience
    • Prior experience with On Board Units (OBUs) and Road Side Units (RSUs)
    • Understanding of wireless technologies -- IEEE, WAVE, DSRC (802.11p), V2X communication; IEEE 1609 and others
    • Automotive experience
    • Experience with rate adaptation algorithms, DFS, roaming, interference avoidance, peer to peer networks, mobile data
