Senior Camera Hardware Engineer at Prophesee

We are looking for a passionate individual who demonstrates initiative, takes ownership, respects commitments, and exhibits a high level of conviction and spirit of innovation. The ideal candidate would be a multitasking and creative hardware designer. You will be responsible for designing, debugging and testing electronic cameras based on state-of-the-art neuromorphic vision sensors. You will be involved in defining camera platform architecture, test and validation strategy implementation, designing electronic circuits, implement new features to the camera, optimizing the cost of hardware and test.

  • Evaluate new components in view of integration in next generation cameras.
  • Optimize current hardware to improve performances, miniaturize existing designs and reduce BOM cost. Apply these learnings in future camera platforms.
  • Lead camera hardware design projects, define roadmaps and follow-up progress.
  • Camera bring-up and characterize the performance criteria of cameras.
  • Write detailed technical reports and documentation.
  • Work in close collaboration with the whole R&D team and provide feedbacks to the sensor design team.
  • Industrialize existing designs.
  • Develop and implement camera level test methodologies and setups.
  • Work on several projects simultaneously with varying scope.
  • Contribute to the support activities for any technical post-sales issues.
  • Keep up to date with new standards and general market information in the Industry.
  • Participate in Technology / Supplier / Tool Selection.
  • Participate in developing methodologies and flow efficiencies.


  • MSc or PhD in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Physics or similar
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in camera hardware design or similar.


  • Strong experience with analog, mixed-signal, and power electronics techniques.
  • Strong background in image video processing.
  • Proficiency in VHDL, Verilog and FPGA programming.
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as C/C++, Python.
  • Proficiency in electronics lab infrastructure for component evaluation and debugging.
  • Experience in embedded system and PCB design.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Knowledge of PCB design tools such as Altium, PADS…
  • Knowledge on signal and power integrity analysis and related methodologies
  • Knowledge of VHDL design tools such as Quartus, Vivado, Questa…

Personal skills: Strong problem-solving skills, strong mathematical background and analytical skills. Flexible to dynamic environments and fast changing technologies. Passionate about technology. This person must work well with other engineers in a team environment. Must be pragmatic and self-motivated to complete a task even if it is outside of just the “well known” realm. “Can Do Attitude”.

Language skills: very good English level is required.

Travel requirements:

Areas: Europe mostly. Occasionally in the US

Frequency: up to 10% of the working time
