Finance Assistant – London at What3Words
London, GB

We are looking for a Finance Assistant to join our team. You will work closely with our Management Accountant, Head of Commercial Finance and CFO to keep the company’s day-to-day accounts organised.

Your areas of responsibility will be:

  • Processing invoices from suppliers by managing the company’s accounts inbox, filing all invoices and uploading to Xero through Receipt Bank.
  • Processing expense claims, submitted through the Expensify app.
  • Setting up supplier and expense payments using online banking. You will also set up payments to consultants in many different countries through payment sites such as Transferwise, Azimo and Global WebPay.
  • Ensuring that spending is in line with company policies and flagging any areas of concern to other members of the Finance team
  • Running fortnightly Aged Payables reports to ensure that invoices are not overdue
  • Bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Managing payments made with the office company card and be a key contact for new credit card requests.
  • Raising sales invoices and monitoring Accounts Receivable to ensure timely cash collection.

You will need a keen eye for detail and a willingness to get involved in lots of different tasks, connecting you with all the different departments of the company. You will be required to support the rest of the finance team with ad hoc tasks and completion of requests for information, particularly during the annual audit.

Requirements

Skills / Experience:

  • A-level qualifications + AAT / Bookkeeping certificate
  • Experience in a similar role
  • Comfortable using Xero and small business Xero add-ons
  • Fully literate with MS Office, particularly Excel
  • Highly professional in approach, honest, discreet and responsible with financial information, of a “can-do” attitude, with attention to detail.
  • Excited to contribute to the creation of a vibrant company in a new sector
